IDEAVS (Impaired Driving Education and Victim Services) is a not-for-profit organization whose goal is to eliminate impaired driving, assist law enforcement with community education, and provide victim assistance to those affected by impaired driving.
The IDEAVS group, (formerly known as MADD), provides education and awareness in our Marion County School District, by hosting mock "DUI Crashes" for graduating classes, as a preemptive measure to raise awareness for students and parents.
Ocala, Marion County, Florida.
IDEAVS is a young organization. Founded in 2009, its members are dedicated to the ideal that education in our schools and awareness in our community of the devastating statistics of impaired driving is paramount to establishing preventive action.
February 23, 2010, IDEAVS was granted 501C(3) status with the Department of Treasury. This status now enables volunteers to offer educational assistance to local schools, assist local law enforcement with DUI checkpoint events, conduct Victim Impact Panels, offer victims advocacy assistance, and to recognize and appreciate local law enforcement with an Annual DUI Law Enforcement Appreciation and Volunteer Recognition Dinner.

IDEAVS is unique in that they assist law enforcement in identifying impaired drivers on our roadways, through a process of visible DUI checkpoint events and local educational programs and events. When community members become aware of the devastating effects impaired driving has on our families and our community as a whole, they understand the vital role they play. IDEAVS can assist those who have been victimized, providing them and their family members with victim advocacy, grief, and coping support.
IDEAVS stands in strength with local law enforcement to educate citizens, classify procedure, and provide community support. To augment their community outreach, simply fill out a membership application - an IDEAVS chairperson will find the perfect place to employ your skills to the principle: "Impaired driving destroys innocent lives!"
