The Refuge Foundation is a nonprofit organization solely reliant on charitable contributions established in order to fund intensive residential treatment targeting those without financial resources who are suffering from addiction and PTSD/Trauma. The Foundation was formed to sponsor treatment opportunities for those who suffer with addiction and complex PTSD and have no available or accessible residential treatment alternative.

Our First Annual Fundraiser will be held on, Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Ocala's Golden Ocala Golf and Equestrian Club, from 7:00pm until 10:00pm.


Dear Friends and Colleagues,

On behalf of The Refuge Foundation, I am writing to urge your support for The RefugeFoundation's First Annual fundraiser scheduled in Ocala Florida on Saturday October16th, 2010. With this event, we hope to raise funds which will help clients who could not otherwise afford residential chemical dependency and trauma treatment. Our event theme is "out of the darkness, into the light" utilizing healing art work created by our many talented clients.

The Refuge-A Healing Place has been in business since July 1st 2003. In that time, we have operated as a private pay facility and have treated over 800 individual clients and families. In 2010, we began accepting insurance, but as you probably know, insurance often only pays for a portion of treatment. Over the years, our facility has offered many scholarships to clients who need this level of care and in each case, those scholarship monies came directly from our owner and her employees. We are now beginning to build a foundation with the hope of being able to offer additional scholarship beds.
